John Swanson
Somewhere out on New Route 66, about 50 miles west of Sinatra and 75 miles east of Tom Waits, Swanson struts his swingin' and singin'. He loves Dave Frishberg songs and Johnnie Walker in a tumbler. He'd like to hear Kurt Elling cover Stone Temple Pilots. Lonnie Johnson is God.

On "Let's Keep in Touch" (©2011 Acoustic SwaneeLand), Swanson is back at it again, dishing out colorful stories and fine musicianship in his signature smooth, easy-going style. His ability to mate the traditional styles and instrumentation with contemporary singer-songwriter attitude and vernacular is in full display; the lyrics are witty, warm, and poignant, backed by exceptional playing and solo work. The rhythm sections swing tight, the horn arrangements punch with authority, the piano and guitar work are flawless, and the vocals sit confidently on top inviting anyone and everyone to join the party.
